We wanted to give you a call to apologise for not being around so much lately, the three of us who have been working on your Australian tour all work full-time so we are not able to do as much as we want to but we’re slowly building you a great tour.

BUT we really need YOU to have a look, we know you will love some of the images we have created for you and we want you to know that Australia loves you so much, we cannot believe that you haven’t been, your wife is Australian and you’ve been together for over five years so there’s really no excuse.

We were excited to hear your news about being the new judge on American Idol, we know how much you love your Idol, how you’ve never missed a show and how as a ‘real’ person you have a ‘feel’ for it all and will add that ‘real’ person’s perspective to the process.

As usual we are very excited to be the messengers of more good news, you too have been named as our new Idol Judge for Australian Idol.

You will have heard that Kyle was booted off for mouthing off on his radio show and how convenient that the two spots came up at the same time?  You get your practice here for the even bigger stage of American Idol.

Dear Ellen,

We know how much you love playing blindfolded games, having your freak totally freaked and how much you love animals, so we took you to Australia Zoo to combine your three favourite things into a game just for you!

Bindi Irwin, our little Australian Wildlife Warrior, is very excited to have you, Tony, Mama (she had to go to the bathroom for a swig of whisky), and Portia (you know how she likes to be ‘seen and not heard’) as her guests at Australia Zoo.

As you know her Dad is Steve Irwin (RIP), the renowned Crocodile Hunter; since his passing there has been oodles and oodles of debate about her remaining in the spotlight and carrying on his legacy while still so young.  But she loves what she does and she’s one of those ‘special’ people put on our earth.  We know how much you love the Irwin family in America, well we do too.

During your visit to Australia Zoo, you not only had fun in the Crocodile Pit but you experienced the dedication of Australia Zoo’s  crew members who are all passionate about wildlife and habitat conservation (just like you) – and as you can see this little Koala is very exhausted from all his posing for photos!

Australia Zoo are committed to creating a positive and memorable experience for each and every one of their guests, and this was your very personalised experience.

We have this new TV show that started a few weeks ago and it’s such a tear jerker, Random Acts of Kindness.  And being the idealists that we are, we would love to see and hear about inspiring and compassionate stories like this all day everyday.  The concept of course is similar to what you do with Gold Digger and all the giveaways you do to help those that are struggling which is of course one of the reasons why we love you so much. We swear by our plate of cupcakes hearing more of these stories everyday is the key to creating that elusive want we all advocate to finally have ‘world peace’.

But back to us, in Australia we are in the fifth year of acknowledging ordinary Aussies doing extraordinary things throughout our communities. They are considered our nation’s unsung heroes. Their contribution is not widely known or recognised by the general public but through their achievements these remarkable Australians inspire all of us, as individuals and collectively, to help make our nation a better place to live.

The prideofaustralia™ medal honours these people – men, women, children, friends, workmates, neighbours, teachers, police officers, charity workers – people who give of themselves without fear or favour; people deserving of our thanks and recognition; people deserving of a prideofaustralia™ medal.

The winner of each of these categories is rewarded with a unique sterling silver prideofaustralia™ medal at a special ceremony held in each State and/or Territory.  The program has uncovered many heart-warming, inspiring, courageous stories about everyday people whose extraordinary actions make us all proud to be Australian.

So our next inspiring Aussie we wanted to introduce is Tierney Jasper who received the Young Aussie Award this year – we know how much you love kids and Tierney is so very special.  This eight year old decided that she wanted to help sick kids to have a better life.  One day she said to her mum ‘Mum, I want to help children who aren’t as lucky as me. I can sit inside and watch TV, or I can walk out the door and do something.’ It was as simple as that.

This amazing eight-year-old from Molesworth walked 60 kilometres from Bridgewater to Sorell to raise more than $5000 for Ronald McDonald House. It was her idea alone and she shrugged off any help from her parents in what was an inspiring journey of the heart as well as the feet.  She was compelled by nothing more than a burning desire to help children less fortunate than herself – she’s nine years old!  Isn’t she amazingly special?  [Source]

Dear Ellen,

We know how much you love feel good stories, especially about people who are selflessly out there doing their bit to make the world a better place so we decided to introduce you to some amazing Australians who are doing just that.

Our first introduction is the very special Gemma Sisia. 2002 was a big year for Gemma, with the help of her family, friends and the local Rotary Club she opened up a small school in North Tanzania. In only eight years what started with only a handful of children and one teacher is now in 2009 a thriving school of almost 1200 children, 130 teachers and 200 staff.

We think that’s bloody impressive for a girl from a sheep farm in Australia.

Over 90% of the children at the school receive a totally free education as local and international sponsors individually cover the costs of not only the educational fees but also the uniform, stationery, transport, hot meal, snacks and drinks of each child. The Schools are called St Judes after the patron saint for the hopeless and each day the staff and students work hard to fulfil the school’s philosophy of “Fighting Poverty through Education“.

Hey Ellen,

Welcome to the first edition of Sassi Girls.  We are excited to have you on the front cover of our magazine; we know how much you love being on the front cover of magazines.   As you can see you are surfing up a storm on Sydney Harbour and Tony and Mama are with you.

Not only are you on the cover, but this issue is all about you and the cover is just the beginning of your trip around Oz; you are going to be doing some cool and crazy stuff.   We love how you are up for absolutely anything and how much you love surprises; we have lots of surprises up our sleeves!  And we are also up for the challenge of freaking your freak out!

We have been planning this project for about six months and were slightly ‘peeved’ that some New Zealand students pipped us at the post and got your attention first (New Zealand is always behind us didn’t you know?).  But just to clarify, we don’t want to come to your show in America we want to bring your show here to Sydney.  We like to think big here, we’re cartoons we know so that means cartoons can really think outside the square and do what they want!

We have made some observations and we want to know if you have additional time in your day than the usual 24 that we all get?  We don’t know how you manage to squeeze in everything that you do:

• Time spent on the back lot
• Watching ALL the TV shows you love (and there are a few just in case you weren’t aware)
• Seeing the latest films
• Read books
• Playing with your animals
• Developing and promoting your Pet brand Halo
• Catching up with your friends (although we think we’ve cottoned onto your trick here, you invite them onto your show to catch up)
• Helping those that are experiencing tough times – we would love to see you get in your Gold Digger box
• Listening to the amount of music that you must because you know ALL THE WORDS to the songs
• All your adventures outside the back lot such as trips with Portia or your recent visit to Tulane Uni
• And most of all time for practicing your dance moves!

We need to know your secret!  We know you are a Covergirl but just how do you manage to be so busy and still look so incredibly young and gorgeous and squeeze all this ‘stuff’ into your day?

We were so sorry we couldn’t make it to your and Portia’s birthday party earlier this year, it sounds like such a blast but our pink jet was out of action.  We were there in spirit and were planning on jumping out of a big birthday cake for you both!

On a serious note, you have no idea how much joy you bring to our day; we watch your show religiously.  We especially love how much joy you bring to other people’s lives and the joy that you get from creating all that joy for them is so genuine and sincere.  Australia is the lucky country but we want you to bring your joy here and touch the hearts of those that need it and some of us do really need it.

Enjoy your stories as they unfold in our magazine dedicated to your trip to Oz, we know you are going to love it.

We love you so much that we’re calling you to have a chat about our dream project … we weren’t big fans of all the yelling and screaming your fans do when you call them, but we’ve changed our mind and find it hilarious and although we are advocates of being as ladylike as possible, to hell with that you can scream as much as you want and feel free to throw in a cartwheel and some dance moves if you like!

We are very serious about our quest to have you come to Australia, so this is your official invitation to come and visit us.  You have an enormous fan base here (well as enormous as we can get here in Oz, we do have a small population but what we lack in numbers, we make up for in excitement and celebration).

Join us here on your journey of shenanigans we all get up to while you’re here, we’ve got lots of fun activities planned and we really think you are going to love them.  Sit tight.
